[Cross Country] Cavs set to compete at 2019 NAIA XC National Championships

MONTREAT, N.C. – The 2019 Men's and Women's Cross Country National Championships are set to take place in Vancouver, Wash. on Friday, Nov. 22 at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. The men's team along with Lydia Wilson are making their return to nationals, this time joined by Erica Morin who will be making her nationals debut.

The men's team earned a bid after coming in at No. 22 in the final NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll and finishing as the runner-up at the 2019 Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships. The men's 8k race will start at 10:30 a.m. PST, 1:30 p.m. EST and will feature 37 teams and 81 individuals.

This year's men's nationals team consists of Dylan Branch, Antonio Gomez, Dan O'Dell, Jacob Parker, Nathan Richards, Ben Schmidt, Caleb Silver, and Garret Welsh.

On the women's side, 2018 Cross Country All-American Lydia Wilson is making her third nationals appearance after finishing seventh at the AAC Championships. Erica Morin placed 16th at the AAC Championships to earn her ticket to nationals. The women's team placed fourth overall at the conference meet and was receiving votes in the final NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

The women's 5k race will see 37 teams and 89 individuals, and will begin at 11:30 a.m. PST, 2:30 p.m. EST.

The races will not be streamed live, but the timer will be sending live results here and the awards ceremony will be live streamed here following the women's race. *Please note the live results are not finalized until after the review period.
