[Cross Country] Cavalier Ladies Bring Home Champion of Character AwardPublished by
The Cavalier ladies brought home the AAC Champion of Character award for the 2012 Cross Country season, continuing a tradition of Cavalier excellence. "When I took this job, I was impressed with the number of Champion of Character awards that the program had won in it's short history," said Coach Herbert. "I think that speaks volumes about Coach Larios and Coach Snyder and the work they did before me, and it's a tradition that I will work to continue. The competition for the award this year was as high as I've ever seen as the teams in our conference are constantly finding ways to serve and support their communities. We don't serve for an award or any recognition, but when I hear the other coaches in the conference talking and describing all the service projects they've incorporated into their busy semesters, it's really humbling to be chosen as the top of that group. The AAC has a collection of schools that care about their communities, that care about service, and that make a commitment to be involved, and that makes me proud to be part of it."
