ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Montreat College's Benjamin Schmidt is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

The junior from Wilmington, N.C. placed 122nd out of 377 runners in the gold race (top division) at the Louisville Classic. He raced to a school record and personal best time of 25:11.

The No. 19 Cavs defeated multiple NCAA DI teams as well as No. 11 Shawnee State, and set a school record with a team time of 2:09:22

This is Schmidt's first weekly honor this season.
