MONTREAT, N.C. – For the first time in program history, Montreat's men's cross country team will be competing at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Cross Country Championships. The squad earned an automatic bid by winning the Appalachian Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Nov. 3 in Canton, Ga.

On the women's side, Lydia Wilson is returning to nationals to compete as an individual after placing third at the AAC Championships.

The event takes place Friday, Nov. 16 at Seminole Valley Cross Country Course in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It is the 63rd Annual NAIA Men's and 39th Annual Women's Championships.

"We're excited to head to Cedar Rapids and represent Montreat at the national championships," said head coach, AAC Men's Coach of the Year, and USTFCCCA South Region Coach of the Year Jason Lewkowicz. "We have set up our training to be at our best at this meet, so I'm looking forward to seeing our group compete."
