[Men's Cross Country] Men's Cross Country Earns Scholar-Athlete Recognition

KANSAS CITY, MO - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 335 women's cross country student-athletes have been named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. 

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

For the Montreat men, Daniel Lancaster and Brandon Welborn were both recognized. Lancaster is a junior from Jacksonville, NC who has maintained a 3.80 GPA in his Bible and Religion major. Welborn is a junior Biology major from Traphill, NC who currently has a 3.96 GPA.
